Rash On Baby Face And Body After Fever. Scarlet fever usually starts with a white coating on the tongue a sore throat headache and a high temperature. Small children between the ages of 6 months and 2 years present the highest risks of developing this condition. When the fever subsides kids will usually develop a pink and slightly raised rash on their trunk belly back and chest within 12 or 24 hours of the fever ending. Its pink and may have small flat spots or raised bumps.
The rash will look like red bumps and start at the neck and upper body working its way down the thorax and into the arms and legs. The rash may last for days or only hours. Generally the presence of a rash ie pimples or red patches on the skin with fever does not indicate a serious illness. This rash will appear for up to three days. When the fever subsides kids will usually develop a pink and slightly raised rash on their trunk belly back and chest within 12 or 24 hours of the fever ending. The fever typically lasts for three to seven days and may end abruptly followed by the telltale rash.
See a GP immediately if you think your child has scarlet fever.
The rash can be red but this may be less noticeable on brown and black skin. The infection usually begins about 2 weeks after exposure to the virus with symptoms such as headaches fever and a runny nose. This condition is known as roseola being primarily characterized by the extended body rash that appears after fever. Keep a close eye on your childs. Once the fever goes away they might also develop a raised spotty reddish rash mainly on their neck and trunk. Several common childhood illnesses including roseola and scarlet fever can cause a rash to develop after the fever passes.
