Baby Has Red Rash Around Mouth After Eating. Im guessing its a reaction to the HV Ranch because he had it all over his face. My sisters lips used to swell up my niece used to go red round the mouth and my DD used to get a very bright red and sore bottom. If its a general blotchy redness around his lips it very well could be an allergy to milk either the casein or the whey protein. I would keep an eye on him next time he has tomato and monitor him. He does eat cheese although we stick to the hard ones like cheddar because hes never gotten a rash from that. After a little while I look and notice all around his lips chin right under his nose and edges of his cheeks are all red.
It seems not to bother him in anyway.
Hes most likely not allergic to these foods. You CANT feel it when you rub your hand over it and will last several minutes to hours. In extreme cases your pediatrician may prescribe steroids. Then a few days after the fever begins sores appear around the mouth. The last time he had raw tomato he got a rash and then threw up within 10 minutes of eating them. The rash goes away within 30 min or less once the food is wiped off his skin.
